my Android deviced used for tethering – where is the respective log file?

It feels like the device is experiencing quite a few (unexpected) disconnects on the 3G ("WAN") port. I suppose there is a log file, where I can find the respective event entries. Where would I find this log file? Any idea anybody?

4G-Systems XSBoxGO – UMTS WIFI router, battery driven

My new "away from home office" Internet access equipment. Certainly a lot more lightweight than an AVM FRITZ!Box 7390 or 7270, but it may do its job.
The specific requirement was "battery driven". Outside (e.g. on a bus (yes!!!), in a customer's office, in a friend's living or sleeping room – wherever I feel tempted to do something over the Internet), I don't want to deal with a UMTS USB stick attached to the notebook on my lap, instead I want to have the device anywhere in my bag or a pocket of my clothes, helping me without attracting other people's attraction to a fancy or huge device.

It's so tiny, you can easily put it "somewhere" and forget, where you left it. For the time being I will keep it in my tiny iPod cloth pocket, so that it doesn't catch a lot of scratches. Of course, I won't necessarily use them together.

Update 2011-07-01

• Wearing it in operating in a pocket is not a good idea, it needs fresh air.
• Restarting through pressing a button does not always work, removing the battery always works.

Update 2011-08-04

I tried to connect to it via WIFI again, and the SSID did not appear.

I dug into it, and I found, that WIFI was disabled. After enabling it again, all was fine.

I have no idea, how WIFI got disabled. That makes no sense to me.

yet another UMTS/HSDPA modem for my FRITZ!Boxes: ZTE INCORPORATED K3565-Z

Vodafone had a campaign with my gym (FitnessFirst), they gave away free UMTS / HSDPA modems, and you won't believe that: they are SIM lock and net-lock free.

The modem presents itself to my 7270 as

• ZTE INCORPORATED K3565-Z.

It works fine with my 2 SIM cards (with dedicated tariffs) for use with UMTS modems:

• one from T-Mobile
• one from simyo

This is my very 1st HSDPA modem, and it works with my FRITZ!Boxes – that's great!

Now I got one modem per SIM card, and I don't need to swap SIM cards on my 4G UMTS modem any longer.

sipgate's SIP client for the iPhone

sipgate.de re-announced their SIP client for the iPhone on the 2009-10-30.
Downloaded it, started it, nice.
It can of course make us of my address book on the iPhone.
I'm not sure, I would want to use SIP over UMTS (if they don't restrict that anyways as Skype does), but for telephone over WiFi, that's pretty nice.

my Mac now connects through my UMTS USB modem

I have been using my "XS Stick W12" from 4g-systems.com for almost a year on my EeePC running WinXP and also on my FRITZ!Box 7270.
Now I can also make use of it on my Mac Book Pro. Splendid.
Looks like 4g-systems.com now sell their current model (XS Stick W14) w/o branding and SIM-lock for EUR 100. Not bad, question is, whether the 7270 supports it.
