"radio has been denied Superuser permissions" – keep getting this message after rooting my Galaxy S 2
Apart from pushing the radio out of the task manager's list (i.e. killing the command), I have not found means against this yet.

finally fixed this problem with Google Maps on my Android smartphone: "please enable google apps location access"
[Android] What is "Please enable Google apps location access" error in Google Maps and how to fix it [dotTech Explains] | Reviews, news, tips, and tricks | dotTech
My Android smartphone wouldn't let me simply enable determining my location via GPS within Google Maps. It complained: "please enable google apps location access". The above article pointed me "here": System settings > Accounts > Google > Privacy > Locations settings > "Let Google apps access your location".
I think, with my smartphone "out there" I had run into this problem quite a few times during the last couple of months, never really properly investigating it at my desk. The investigation didn't really cost me a lot of time, but … you know … – now at least the issue is solved.

my Android deviced used for tethering – where is the respective log file?
It feels like the device is experiencing quite a few (unexpected) disconnects on the 3G ("WAN") port. I suppose there is a log file, where I can find the respective event entries. Where would I find this log file? Any idea anybody?
On my new LTE router (an AVM FRITZ!Box 6842 (maybe this link still leads you to its elder sister 6840) [German link])

Musical Piano FREE/Pro - Android Apps on Google Play
Piano keyboards on my Android tablet – I really like this.
For now this is good enough to help my son exercising the music for his choir.

I'm trying to delete apps from My Android Apps, but they don't let me
Contact Google Play about Android Apps - Google Play Help
There are apps, that I purchased resp. downloaded once, and that I removed meanwhile from my Android devices, but I still get updates offered again and again, and that way I am not able, to select "update all". So I thought, it's more adequate to get them removed from "My Android Apps" entirely, but:

At this time, there is no way to permanently delete or remove apps from either My Apps or My Orders.
We're always working to improve functionality of My Apps and My Orders, so stay tuned!

how to load SIM card contacts into an Android smartphone and also into my Google Mail Contacts
I was actually already quite able to load "my" SIM card contacts into my Android smartphone contacts, but apparently they get flagged in a way, so that these entries don't get synchronised with my Google Mail Contacts.
I did a Google search for this ("android sim contacts to gmail"), but the articles there seem to not consider that flag, that seems to prevent that synchronisation.
Note: It's actually not my SIM card contacts and my Google account, but it's easier to write "I" then "person X".
Update 2012-05-13: "Ice Cream Sandwich" Android on my own smartphone has a Contacts app option named "Merge with Google", that seems to cope with this problem. It allows to select a specific Google account for this action. But the true owner of that SIM card doesn't want to have his SIM card contacts in my phone, and I actually don't want that as well.

my Android smartphone as FM radio "via speaker"
I have had mobile phones / smartphones with "FM radio" applications for quite a while now, and I had also learned, that they use earphones as antenna / aerial. Somehow I had implied, that would mean I would have to listen to the broadcast via earphones. I took me a while to let the idea grow, how nice it would be to be able to listen to the broadcast via speaker nevertheless. Well, the "FM radio" application on my Samsung Galaxy SII already has that feature. Nice. That way I don't need to waste bandwidth for streaming my favourite broadcasting stations over the Internet any longer. If I had only known that for a little longer! What a waste! I am so embarrassed.

QuickSSHd on my Android devices – pictures, e-books, … – created a few recipes for downloading and uploading
First: yes, QuickSSHd is very nice and useful software. Why does Android not come with something like that by itself?
Second: Yes, a graphical SFTP browser (such as Cyberduck) can be quite nice for interacting with an SSH server.
I have downloaded pictures from my tablet and my phone quite a few times now …
I have uploaded e-books to my tablet quite a few times as well ...
At some stage you just start thinking, doing it on the command line resp. in a script is your preferred way. I got there today, and I collected my one-liners in yet another tiny README / HOWTO document. That's a relief!
Actually I would like to rsync to my Android devices, but (I think) the rsync utilities available for Android don't act as remote party.
Update 2012-07-29:
The app's help screen describes briefly but exactly, how to create a new pair of ssh keys and how to transfer the public key to the other party. Basically the public key, from where you are going to log into you Android device, has to be listed in the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on your Android device.

This book describes the Android 2.x firmware.
I guess, after the upgrade to the Ice Cream Sandwich (4.x) Android firmware, this book will not properly describe the smart phone any longer.

my "Samsung Galaxy S II" is in "Safe mode" –– what the heck?
What takes you there? Apparently pressing the menu button during start up takes you there. I did not do that on intention. Whatever … – alright, rebooted, resolved.

how to disable Android Market software updates resp. notifications
I got an Android phone and also an Android tablet.
Once in a while I have a good reason to use one of them as Wi-Fi router for the other and also other devices.
Once in a while I am abroad, and usually I have data roaming ticked off.
But then also once in a while data roaming is necessary, because there is no other suitable Internet access.
What more precautions can I take in order to avoid rather unnecessary transfers then?
- "Update over Wi-Fi only" (may not help for the device getting routed through the other one)
- tick off "Auto-update apps"
- tick off "Notifications" ("about updates to apps or games that I've downloaded")
- within "About tablet" > "Software update" tick off "Auto update"
